    Red's French Help

Post by Guest on Tue Dec 14, 2010 5:56 am

I would try to help the Mob by running French and/or Spanish help but I think Coffin Dodger's probably the only one that can be assed to learn.

Anyway, this thread is for corrections.
Coffin Dodger can ask that the mods delete this topic if he wants 'cause I didn't consult him Shy (but did it anyway mainly 'cause I finished all my work in an hour today and I'm bored out of my mind but don't have Steam with which to contact anyone Sad ).
Just wanted to do something helpful Blushing

Je suis très intéressé!! Mais je ne suis pas souvent disponible à cause de devoirs...

    interreser vs intéressé
The first is infinitive, need some conjugation! Kawaii

    disponibles vs disponible
You're one guy, why the plural? i r confuzzled Dizzy

    a vs à
It may seem like I'm just being nitpicky but it does make a difference. The A without the accent means "has" so you essentially said "I am not normally free has cause of duties."

Overall, the sentence was really good. How long did you say you've been learning for? Orh

The red stuff is the same as your correction for intéressé but not for disponibles. FIX IT.

You asked for French people but it doesn't take being French to speak the language Pout

Merci! And i don't mind the nit picking. My teachers are far worse. It's the little things that drastically change meanings. currently too busy with class work but will be available very soon.

How much do you know and for how long have you been speaking/writing?

I've been living in France and Switzerland for about eight years now, on and off. I've studied French for about five years (plus two but those were spent doing the basics again because no one else was as advanced as me, all beginners and we only had one teacher so I couldn't do anything at my level Uhh ).

I don't want to blow my own horn so I'll be honest. I suck at speaking, it takes too long for me to form a correct sentence in my head. My writing is pretty good, though I check it just in case. Everything I write is correct but I've been told by a French pal that I sound mechanical and awkward in e-mails Sad

Reading and listening are easy, though. I understand everything Grin

    You?
