Anyone who's a fan of Red Orchestra: Ostfront '41-'45 should already know about Red Orchestra 2. If you don't, shame on you! This game is shaping up to be a worthy sequel with a lot of gameplay refinements that should bring it more into the mainstream.

    • Improved AI bots for offline play and filling out server playercounts

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Rosteppe

RO2 is slated for release in Q1 2011 and should be up for prepurchase any day.

My crappy PC will probably struggle to play it, but it's definitely on my wish list.

I remember seeing this when you first linked to it ages ago. I was excited about everything but the graphics, but it looks pretty good. I'm probably going to play this just to satisfy my DAWDS needs.

I really only need to make sure they can capture the 1 Man, 1 Army element of this game well again.
And that is simply that you can't be a 1 Man army, but you are 1 man of 1 army and have to work together.

Teamwork in RO (and it's Mod's) is very critical)

Judging from the preview vids that have come out, teamwork is still crucial to success. I wouldn't have it any other way. The Countdown gameplay type with progressive spawns looks particularly team-based: you have one life per objective to progress through the map as a team.

Yeah, Countdown looks to be my game.

Team based Objectives are what lead me to love DoD:s, and furthermore RO.

Seeing a second RO with even deeper focus on the team play is even more exciting.

Obviously it wouldn't be RO; but I would love for someone to make a more Sci-Fi shooter with heavy team based tactics in it. Like Assault mode of UT without all the UT nonsense of super guns and such.
