    Chinese or Indian for me.

Chinese has so much shrimp! And I love shrimp!
    And spring rolls
    And fried rice
    And sweet crispy beef.
    ARGH, I'M MAKING MYSELF HUNGRY.

Indian manages to make even chicken taste awesome.
I love the sauces, dipping naan or roti into them. Delicious.

Damn, Japanese too. I don't like any sushi other than cucumber or plain 'cause I hate fish but I love ramen. Especially the ones that include kimichi (spicy orange cabbage). Mmmmmmmmm

What about you guys? Om Nom

I don't really have a favourite since I'm boring like that. I do love ramen too though and it SUCKS BALLS that I can't easily buy them over here. Grr

I'm sorry but veggie rolls does not equal Sushi.

    FAIL.

    But to answer the question:

    Japanese, Mediterranean.

She's talking about kappa maki. According to the internetz, it's a kind of sushi because it's made with "sushi rice" and nori.

I'm thinking of making some tomorrow, actually. I should try it with carrots...

Red, you forgot to mention how much you love Ethiopian food or has that love fizzled? Gah

Breakfast food. Mostly because its super-filling, tasty, and I can cook it all in one skillet.

It could just be me, but I still don't see kappa maki as sushi. Sushi = fish. SO just because it's made with "sushi" rice doesn't make it sushi. Laa

But I'm just picky about shitz like that because I grew up on sushi, sashimi, and all things Japanese foodsy. Hell yes, and damn. Now I want some.

    Nom nom.

It's okay, I'm picky too. Especially when people assume Mexican food = all latinamerican food.

    A dictionary wrote:su·shi (ssh)
    n.
Cold cooked rice dressed with vinegar that is shaped into bite-sized pieces and topped with raw or cooked fish, or formed into a roll with fish, egg, or vegetables and wrapped in seaweed.

That's the definition we use when we mean sushi so I guess that's where we differ.

And I didn't get to make any at home since I can't find the rice I need for it. I'm tempted to try it with the rice we've got but I foresee terrible things happening.

    I don't recommend that.

But if you use regular rice, I recommend sashimi.

American rice no longer does it for me. Once you get hooked on the sticky rice, you never go back... I like Thai, Korean, and Japanese in that order. Erm.. we are talking about food right? Grin

    yes, food.

ANd yes. I abhor American rice. I can never cook it right, even with a rice cooker. Luckily my parents send me bags of rice from home every month or so. Hilarious

Funny thing about rice, my dad cannot eat rice with any metal silverware. He has to use wooden chopsticks, and at first I didn't understand, until I realized a metallic taste when I eat rice after not using chopsticks for so long after moving to the U.S. SAD STORY, but good thing I have my chopsticks. W00t.

(pinching chopstick emote - mr. miyagi and fly gif? Questioning )

In general I like carb food. In addition to Japanese and Mediterranean foods I'm a huge lover of Pasta. *guzzle*
